CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER

The Lincoln Theatre will be closed over the summer of 2026.

For nearly 100 years, Lincoln Theatre has been the heart of downtown Mount Vernon—a place where stories come to life on stage and screen. The Centennial is more than a celebration, it’s an opportunity to invest in the future of our community’s cultural landmark. The much needed renovations will ensure the Lincoln can continue to serve as a space for creative expression, education, and connection for the next 100 years.

Currently, our projected re-opening date is October 9. Check this page for updates as we go!

Here's what our summer project aims to do:

Improve safety through critical infrastructure upgrades.
Installing an HVAC system will help maintain a comfortable temperature year-round, and a fire suppression system will bring the theatre up to current safety standards, protecting the historic building and everyone who gathers within it.

Expand accessibility for all to experience the magic of the Lincoln.
Planned upgrades will expand ADA seating and create accessible backstage areas so performers of all abilities can share their talents on stage.

Preserve our historic character, ensuring the Lincoln’s legacy lives on.
The Centennial campaign is dedicated to preserving the theatre’s unique charm while making upgrades that allow the Lincoln to continue it’s mission to entertain, inform, and inspire our diverse community through cinema, live performance, and educational programs for the next 100 years.
